An Artist in the Magic of Time and Space: Şevket Dağ

The exhibition titled "An Artist in the Magic of Time and Space: Şevket Dağ" consisting of the works of Şevket Dağ, one of the most important names of Turkish painting, is at Folkart Gallery.

Şevket Dağ, who opened his first exhibition with 5 works in a custard shop in Fatih district of Istanbul in 1902, participated in various exhibitions with his works until 1944. In 1944, Dağ passed away, and although his works were included in different group exhibitions, no exhibition has been organized to date, only Şevket Dağ's works.

​ The exhibition "An Artist in the Magic of Time and Space: Şevket Dağ" at Folkart Gallery includes 60 works of art as well as personal belongings of the painter Şevket Dağ such as his sketchbooks, palette, easel, paint box, photographs and many correspondences. A 320-page album titled “An Artist in the Magic of Time and Space: Şevket Dağ” in Turkish and English was also prepared for the exhibition. The album includes writings by Sinan Genim, Fahri Özdemir, Evrim Altuğ, Malik Aksel, Cemal Tollu and Şeref Akdik, as well as documents and objects related to his works and himself. 42 different collectors and art collecting institutions have contributed their works to the exhibition,
