Folkart Gallery is set to open on February 8 as Turkey's largest gallery with an 800-square-meter area at Folkart Towers. The gallery will salute art lovers with the "Magic of Hands" collection, also featuring works by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, and other prodigies of the era.

Folkart Gallery will be managed by an advisory board made up of prominent Turkish artists. Led by journalist and writer Doğan Hızlan, the Board includes Hüsamettin Koçan, Habip Aydoğdu, Hanefi Yeter, Kemal Tufan, and Çerkes Karadağ. Hızlan chaired the Izmir gathering of the Advisory Board, which performed on-site inspections at the gallery. Then, the Board held a five-hour meeting with Folkart Chairman Mesut Sancak participating.

On Sunday, February 8, Folkart Gallery will open its doors to art lovers with the world-renowned Prof. Dr. Hans-Gerhard Zilch's "Magic of Hands" exhibition, curated by İbrahim Karaoğlu. Set to be displayed for the first time in Turkey, the collection features the works of legendary artists such as Pablo Picasso, Auguste Rodin, Salvador Dalí, Eugène Delacroix, Le Corbusier, Man Ray, Joseph Beuys, Georg Baselitz, who have shaped world art. The exhibition also puts on display works by countless Turkish artists like Abidin Dino, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu and İbrahim Balaban, who all made their mark on Turkish art history. "Magic of Hands" will be open at the Folkart Gallery for Izmir art lovers until March 15. The collection will then be exhibited in Ankara and Istanbul with sponsorship from Folkart once again.

During his inauguration speech of the Folkart Art Gallery, Folkart Chairman Mesut Sancak expressed their desire to improve the standards of art, both in Izmir and the rest of Turkey. “For a long time, we have been working on the idea of developing an art gallery in Izmir that meets international standards with the goal of increasing awareness of and broadening interest in art. Motivated by words from famous painter Pablo Picasso: ’Everything you can imagine is real,’ we present our art gallery for the service of Izmir residents. Now, Izmir is a contender to become the capital of art, and we are confident that all of Turkey and Izmir residents in particular will be following us closely.
