During his inauguration speech of the Folkart Art Gallery, Folkart Chairman Mesut Sancak expressed their desire to improve the standards of art, both in Izmir and the rest of Turkey. “For a long time, we have been working on the idea of developing an art gallery in Izmir that meets international standards with the goal of increasing awareness of and broadening interest in art. Motivated by words from famous painter Pablo Picasso: ’Everything you can imagine is real,’ we present our art gallery for the service of Izmir residents. Now, Izmir is a contender to become the capital of art, and we are confident that all of Turkey and Izmir residents in particular will be following us closely.
