Folkart Gallery exhibits Sebastião Salgado's "Workers" collection for Izmir residents.

Known as a "Living Legend" in Brazil, and as "the world's most qualified human portrait documentary photographer" around the world, Sebastião Salgado will be on display at the Folkart Gallery, Turkey's biggest, for Izmir art lovers. A total of 63 photographs from the artist's Workers collection will be featured at the 2015-2016 season opening exhibition of the Folkart Gallery between October 1 and November 29. Folkart Chairman Mesut Sancak expressed how impressed he is by the photographs of people taken by Sebastião Salgado. "We are especially proud that Folkart Gallery is bringing the exhibit to Izmir for the first time."

A groundbreaking social documentary photographer, Sebastião Salgado was born in 1944 during the darkest years of the Second World War. Originally an economist, Salgado saved the Magnum Photos from economic crisis, thanks to the photos he took of the assassination attempt on U.S. President Ronald Reagan.
